The hot blazing sun, cool breezes, bugs, slushies, flipflops, BBQ's...summer is fast approaching! I don't even know how to react to it...am I dreading it or am I am looking forward to it? As long as I've got air conditioning, plenty of fruit to munch on and good lazy company...I'm good with summer =)
The weekend has been really great. Yesterday after I tutored, I explored bf's jungle/bush-like backyard as he was fixing his car. It was the first time that I had really gone outside and soaked up some sun, it was such a peaceful moment, then suddenly....I took one step forwards...my foot came into contact with some long dead grass...such deadly grass...which made my short stumpy legs slide forwards and backwards uncontrollably (just think of someone, like me skiing without skis or just remember how well I skate on ice and you can probably imagine the scene), and then my useless legs just gave way by sliding backwards and thank goodness my hands made contact with the ground. But, to make things an even more sigh-worthy moment, as I turned back to find some patch of ground without grass to step on (to save myself from more injury) I slipped again....double sigh...I hate long dead grass that lie randomly on the ground!! Amazingly enough though, as all of this happened, I did not utter one sound..not even a squeal! which meant no one saw meeeeeeeee =D I thought about not telling bf to save myself from embarrassment but I did, as I do enjoy attention from him...what I got was an "aiyo"..cheh...next time I think I will force myself to squeal!
Today was a bit more eventful than yesterday's episode I suppose...only slightly. It felt like a true summer's day...only because I was outdoors for most of the time. Bf picked me up and was much chirpier than usual...it could only mean one thing...soccer today. To start the day off, we picked up Calvin and Kendoll and made our way to the Elephant and Wheelbarrow pub in Northbridge, which is also a meeting spot for the Perth Glory soccer fan club. I felt kind of isolated...being one of four of the only Asian people and one of the only few girls in the pub, but that really wasn't a worry at all because we had goooooood pub food, food just makes me happy. I had bangers and mash for lunch =D After the yumyum food we, including all the Glory fans started walking towards the Equity Member's Stadium or was it the Member's Equity Stadium (so confusing!) for some soccer fun. OMG, it was the most uncomfortable walk...it was so hot. Kendoll showed me his modified nintendo DS as we walked...it was so awesome...I now know that I don't need to buy games, I can download hundreds of them for free and store them in a memory card...wow...hours and days of fun, here I come! Annnnnyway...we got to the stadium and the game had already started. The boys didn't have high hopes for Perth Glory and insisted that missing out on 10 minutes of the game was nothing...but I knew they were lying =) I think throughout the game, instead of watching it, I was trying more to not to sweat in the hot scorching sun and kept laughing at how 'into' the game the boys were...funny stuff! Other things I saw was a little boy falling down the steps, a really hairy ear that belonged to an Italian man, sweat dripping from Kendoll and bf's foreheads and the scoreboard...just in case I got asked about the score (which was 2-1 Perth Glory btw). We headed back to the pub for another drink, actually two and recapped the game...with the wonderful air conditioning blasting. For dinner, bf and me went to Tea cafe for some asian style spaghetti and baked rice, which really made the day even better. Can't wait to do all of this again in a couple of weeks =D
PS: I love my DS!!
