Unexpectedly, the last 3 days have been rather active...all thanks to bf. You see, my poor darling had and probably is still sick and was awarded 3 days sick leave...I was both happy and sad about this. Sad because my dorky has a lung infection! Hope that it goes away quick smart! And happy because we got so much done and had some simple fun =)
On Tuesday...Melbourne Cup Day...we didn't do anything in particular in relation to it...just wanted to mention it for no reason ehehe but what we did decide to do was take bf's dad out for lunch at Dumpling King but...when we got there, our beloved eatery was CLOSED! Such disappointment..I really wanted my fish head noodle soup again. So we decided to go to Karawara for some Indian/Malaysian food at Sahara. The place was empty as usual and didn't have that offensive Indian smell that a lot of places have ahaha. We ordered our usual teh terik in a boot glass...so cute and yummy. And food? well I ordered an egg, cheese, onion and mushroom prata and also there was a bowl of the nicest mutton soup that I have ever tasted! I know I keep blogging about food, but I really can't help it...food is too delicious to not share about with others =) I ate up my prata and soup with great satisfaction...oh yes I did..ahaha. The rest of the day...I don't think we did anything else, just relaxed and drowned myself in some DS goodness =)
On Wednesday...we went to Garbos for a bit of window shopping. But before that happened, we went out for lunch again...yes we eat a lot...no wonder I'm feeling the flab grow...argh thinking about flab makes me depressed..I must join a gym of some sort...feeling sluggish. Anyway we tried the restaurant Ipoh Gardens in Myaree...not a bad place at all...bf ordered Ipoh hor fun noodle soup and I had Indian mee...which tasted ok. We might visit this little place more often I think...or alternate it with Dumpling King =P After lunch we headed to Garbos and I have to say..it was actually quite successful...we didn't window shop..we actually bought things and I managed to find some necklaces that I had been looking for...so yey! Bf even bought some clothes and a necklace. After that...I can't remember what we did ahaha...oh well!
On Thursday guess what we did? Yes that's right, we went out for lunch AGAIN! This time we went to Bullcreek Hawkers =P But before that I finally did what I was supposed to do a month ago and I can proudly say that I handed out my resumes to the schools near my house for relief teaching =) So fingers crossed that I get called sometime...but not too much ehehe. Yes anyway...back to lunch, I ordered a fish fillet mai fun soup...so yummers and bf got laksa! loserface...afterwards, we headed back to bf's house to pick up his daddy and we went and browsed cars...reason? well bf wants a new car and I think he already has his heart set on a particular type of car already...it's just like his current car, but purple and faster...he's just really excited about it..it's scary! But really cute...he's such a little kid =P We looked at a lot of car dealing places...man it was so tiring and really windy...I don't know how, but that wind just blew the energy out of me. I ended up napping in front of the TV afterwards and felt horrible when I woke up...not refreshed. I went home afterwards and enjoyed Evy time ahaha....had enough of someone in particular =P
Today is now Friday...I had work. Hayley was at work today so yey! I had an extra person to chat with...she's just awesome. Work was pretty annoying because there were a lot more complaints from customers than usual...one of them complained that the food didn't taste nice and they demanded something else as a replacement and when they were asked to pay again for the new dish...they complained again. What stupid customers...there was nothing wrong with the food either..just that it didn't match up to their taste. So fussy! Argh...anyway, work went fast and for the rest of the day I just relaxed at home...no dorky today =)
Now for some other unrelated but important thoughts...I've been thinking alot about whether or not this whole Kalgoorlie thing will work out. I still haven't heard from the people from the department about which school they want me at, which is so frustrating and it's making me impatient, so the stress is building up big time. I just want to know because there are a lot of other plans that are being put on hold. It's very much like I'm standing on the edge of a cliff wanting to reach the bottom...so do I just step off that edge to get there? It's a big risk but I am sure to get where I want fast... Or do I turn and step back from the edge and try and find a slower path down by foot and risk going the wrong way...I am prone to getting lost afterall. Arggghh! Help me to decide...I can't make big decisions...I hate being so indecisive sometimes. Well I'm giving myself a deadline...by the end of this month...I will have an answer! But so far...bf and me have come up with this...
Pros for going to Kalgoorlie:
- Great experience
- Permanency after 2 years, making it easier for me to get a permanent position in the metro area.
- Opportunity for us to be more independent
- Meeting new people
- Secure income = money saved for the future
The cons:
- Being so far away from everyone!!
- The weather
- Lack of support
- Getting a very difficult class
- Mental breakdown
- Not knowing anyone
- Bf not being able to find a steady job
- Lack of good places to eat!
Pros for staying:
- Not leaving family and friends
- Other job opportunities - there is always relief teaching paired up with another casual job
- Could be offered a placement in the metro area, if I'm lucky - I did apply afterall
- Can carry out other plans - holiday, purchases, getting my license haha
- Comforts - including food =)
- No hassle about moving away - packing, furniture etc...
- Opportunity to move out into the country in later years.
The cons:
- Not being able to find a career-related job
- May take a much longer time to gain permanency
- Moving to the country to teach could be a permanent thing as to being just contracted
- Stress from parents
- Money saving could prove to be difficult
Yes...so.....HELP and ARGGGHHHHH!! That's it ehehe...
Muah!
