Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!

(My mum's cooking efforts this year)
I'm so stuffed!!! I just had CNY eve dinner with my family and my mum out did herself again with her cooking and just like Christmas, she started cooking early this morning...crazy mummy! We barely ate half of everything she cooked and didn't even have any rice...but I guess they'll be leftovers for the new year! Good job, mum! Love you for looking after us so much =) The festivities have begun =D
I think I'll make this post a fairly short one today...
It was a really hot day today and bf and me went to the city for a bit of light shopping...I was looking for an epilator and dorky needed a dvd rack and also lettuce. No epilator suitable was found and no dvd rack...but we got lettuce! On Murray Street Mall we watched the Chung Wah Liondance troupe perform and then chatted to the dancers afterwards. It was a nice afternoon with him, think I acted like an oddball though...reason? It was soo bloody hot!

On Thursday night, the uni girls invited bf and me to dinner at Trigg Beach cafe because Jess was leaving for Eneabba to teach for 2 years. She's so lucky, she got a nice little town along the coast that isn't too far away from Perth! Not like Kalgoorlie, which is 5-6 hours away into the desert! Anyway...the cafe/restaurant was really nice...just take a look at the view we got (below) as we ate! I ordered a fish of the day and chips and my goodness, it was the biggest piece of fish I had ever eaten. Bf's meal was even bigger, his fish looked like a giant chicken fillet and tasted like it too! For dessert, we had sticky date pudding, our favourite!! It's always nice to catch up with the girls...I have a feeling we will stay in touch for a very long time..next time I'll see them will be at graduation and graduation dinner with our families..now that will be interesting!

The next night, bf's parents invited me and my parents out for dinner in City Beach. I think my parents were a little nervous about it, but I calmed my mum down and said it was just a time to get to know one another better! Luckily, bf's mum was really talkative so my mum and her got a long just fine. They seemed to have chatted heaps...about what? I have no idea because everyone was speaking in Canto...so lousy...no one ever bothered to teach me canto too =( From everyone's reaction, they seemed comfortable...so yay! My parents were thinking of inviting them out for dinner soon too. Oh, the xiao long baus were so good!!! so cute! Afterwards...bf and me went and watched Bride Wars...it was a pretty good chick flick, just that I hope he didn't get any weird thoughts or ideas about it...I think we also had bubbletea after that ehehehe.
My mum ordered me a new bed, without my consent and I received it yesterday as an early gift for CNY. My mum said it was like giving $500 in an ang pau and I should be considered very lucky. I think I would rather exchange the bed for money! But it isn't CNY just yet and I reckon that I will get an ang pau anyway hohoho. Thanx for the bed though! It's super comfy and really high...it comes up to my waist!
I also helped dorky clean up his uber messy room. I warned him that not cleaning for the new year is a bad indication for what the rest of the year would hold...or something like that =P We used his new duster from Singapore and turned it very black from just dusting the top of his aircon. Afterwards, we watched John Tucker must Die...it was such a teen movie but I liked it...Miguel from Passions was in it! Oh I miss Passions!!
Anyway, that's all I can think of for an update...sooooo now I wait for the new year!
Have a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year everyone xxoo
