I cry so easily these days...I think it's all the stress and pressure that's been loaded on top of me. Being unemployed seriously sucks. (Boo I always blog about the same thing). It's depressing. I am at home all day watching shows, trying to make resources for teaching..just in case something comes up and facebooking! My goodness..in a way all that is all so tiring. What tires me most though, is my mum's continuous nagging...I feel like crying. I can't really face her much these days, which is why I stay in my room most of the time. Actually, even when I am in my room...I can hear her talking loudly about me...it's hard to block it all out. Asian parents suck. Wishing that my mum had a different attitude towards all this...then perhaps I could talk to her about my problems. I at least have hope that there will be an offer for me.
Anyways..emo crap aside. CNY is coming to an end...so sad and yet so indifferent to me. My family hasn't really celebrated a part from nicer dinners and a tiny bit of mah jong. A few people have come visiting but it's all the same...luckily CNY hasn;t been all boring for me. I've been following bf around all weekend for lion dance. It's really quite fun getting caught up in it all...you feel like you're a part of something great. On the first weekend of CNY we went and followed the liondance troupe to households, a restaurant in Midland, the Chung Wah ball at burswood, Christmas Island ball, which was also at Burswood and more restaurants. Getting to know some of the lion dancers a bit better was really good too...they're all really friendly and funny. If only I could do lion dance too...think my body would break though. After every performance we would be treated to dinner..omg free food! I felt kind of bad eating the food, even though I didn't do much...but bf assured me it was ok ahaha...so yey! The food each night wasn't too bad...I am in love with salted egg squid though...mmmm!! I think I had a total of 3 free dinners..eeps! Thanx Chung Wah!
During CNY, I also went to the Hawker Bazaar with my parents. It was a freaking hot day and we were outdoors all morning. I sweated heaps! The food wasn't too bad, but quite the expensive seeing as the foods came from restaurants in Perth! There was quite a lot to see there. Geishas on stilts! Like wow, you don't see that everyday! And a person in a cow suit in 25 degree heat...ouch. After an hour of being in the sun, my parents of course entered the casino where yes...I was checked for ID...gay. I had a very boring time just watching roulette...I still didn't really understand how to play. I was watching the people play...there was this stupid Asian lady who didn't know how to play and kept putting random chips down and causing disputes..I think the dealer almost broke down and had to be replaced. The best part of the casino was the chocomilk, it was yum as always and best of all...it was free =) I'm such a cheapass this cny lol.
I met up with Jenny. I hadn't seen her in ages! Plus, I needed help in choosing a present for wei2 and Jen was the best I could get...she snoops through his room! We met at our usual meeting spot and then as we got off the bus, I totally stacked it =( Lucky only Jenny and maybe one other bus driver saw. Boo. We went to the city and just wandered aimlessly around for ages before we stopped to eat at Takas. We caught up heaps and found out she's doing nursing at ECU...yey for her, but at Joondalup...so far! Oh well, I promised I'd help her find her way there before orientation day...adventure! We talked about Wei and his interests...which was pretty interesting to say the least! We ended up getting him 3 Peter Alexander sleeping singlets, 2 candles from dusk (because he uses them...) a birthday balloon and also a me2u bear! After that we rushed to catch the train only to find out we had missed the bus back home, so we were stuck browsing at Target for an hour. Thanx Jenny for helping me...such a successful day!
It was Wei Wei's birthday on the 4th! HAPPY 21ST! I felt bad because Wei had to ring me up for an RSVP. Oops, sorry! He invited us out for dinner at Hong Lin chinese restaurant. I think Joyce's family owns it or Tak? Not sure, but it was in Hamilton Hill. We picked up Ama and went there to meet up with Jien and Eva. Jon, Sarah and Sharon arrived at the same time. I said hello to them, but that was it...hmm guess we aren't that close anymore...but I guess it's been like that for over a year now since I stopped going to GMC. Anyway...Wei hadn't even arrived yet so we mingled with the people on the table and played with heart and star confetti! Made lots of pretty patterns =P Then birthday boy arrived in his suit...most people were dressed semi-formal, except dorky and a couple of others..sorry dork!! We were served soooooo much food, luckily we had some guys on the table otherwise there would be mass wastage. The food wasn't too bad...I liked the pork spare ribs...yummo! We had Mr Foo's cake in the shape of a key and also watched a slide show of Wei's life...some of the photos...a wee bit disturbing ahah but the baby pics were cute! It was good to catch up with everyone again...good stuff! Happy 21st again Weiweiii! =)
Hmm what else...On Sunday, I accompanied bf and his mum to Marangaroo Temple to watch mass lion dancing. I think there around abouts 20 lions there and also a dragon. Argh Asian people can be really pushy...I kept getting knocked here and there because people kept wanting to pat the lions. Actually...it was just the little kids! The lions were cool though...so many jumping around...it was like a lion party. After the performance, we all enjoyed vegetarian food..it was so yummy! Afterwards, I was a little sad...no more lion dance until next year =( It was good while it lasted!
Valentines Day is coming up oooooerrrr. I've been folding stars for that dorky and he's been doing the same for me. The skin on my thumb and index finger have gone hard =( I'm still hunting for something to give him...haha can't believe how suckered I am into Vday. Oh well...any chance to go and eat somewhere nice....not really sure what he's up to. I only got a clue...4 course dinner somewhere unknown and I have to wear a dress lol...such a dorky! muahs
Think that's it for now...can't wait to watch episode 18 of GG!!
xoxo
