Wahooo this entry that I am writing now will be my 100th one for this blog! I didn't think this would last so long, but yay! I'm proud of my commitment! Let's hope it lasts at least another 100 entries more =P
Anyhooo...lots has happened in the past 2-3 weeks...let me enlighten you all with the highlights!
The school holidays started and I got more shifts at the cafe because Karla took the 2 weeks off to look after her sister. I'm going to start by writing about work because its been bugging me alot. I don't really understand my boss, Kylie...she hired a "mystery shopper" to assess the cafe and put our customer service skills to the test. This shopper person came in on a day that was not normal at all. There was a kids party going on and a group of 11 elderly people were eating in that day too, as well as the regular customers. Now, Kylie didn't put enough staff on that day so everybody had to really work twice as hard and no one had a chance to slow down. It was a hell of a day and I thought that everyone did really well despite the craziness. Anyway, Kylie received the results from the mystery shopper and immediately pointed the finger at us and advised us to give better customer service, to upsell food to all customers and to work faster...woah...no one was happy about that at all. She sent us the review she got and we read it...funny thing is, the mystery shopper complained mostly about the physical appearance of the cafe more than the skills of the staff. If Kylie had expectations for us all then I really think that she should have made the effort to call a staff meeting and let us know what she wanted, but see...Kylie doesn't know what she wants, she's very inconsistent and there's a whole lot of other stuff she does that makes us question her leadership...sigh. Because of all the crap she put us through, Hayley decided to leave and I think a few other girls have left too...wonder when it will be my turn! Phewwww - OK got that off my chest!
Anyway! On a Tuesday, I went to carousel with my mum! Gosh, I haven't been shopping like that with her in such a long time. It felt so good to bond =) We spent the whole day browsing and looking at puppies! We stopped during lunch time to share a large waffle from gelares...it was goooood! My mum seemed really happy that day...I guess she really does get bored being home alone =( I should take my mum out more often I think!
Wednesday night, Dorky played soccer at Lord's. He played in a competition for his friend's team...ANZ superstars? Haha. The team won and dorky scored a goal! So congrats to him =P So many people play sport at that place...makes me feel slack and slobby just watching them...argh need to get back into the gym routine I think...feeling so soft.
It was my brother's birthday on Thursday that week..so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! He's in Sydney now so we couldn't celebrate it with him, but apparently he went out with friends for dinner, which is really good for him...he needs to socialise more! Hope that he's doing well in Sydney...he comes back in December! Hope he brings presents haha!
There was also a Glory match on Friday night...it was good but I guess not as eventful as the week before...the crowd thinned out! It was still really fun though! Thanks dorky for taking me to watch =)
Saturday night! It was chicken's 21st birthday party at Tiger Lils! I was so excited for her and also excited to have a night out with everyone =D The venue was was so nice, I loved the layout of the bar..you could just relax inside and the music wasn't too bad either. Also that night, we finally got to meet Michael, officially!! He seems pretty nice and easygoing, which is good! He made the effort to talk to everyone and he matched Jas...it was like they were going to a ball together..chicken looked so lovely in her pink 'tail' dress =) We all had a good catchup and we got to see people we hadn't seen in a long time...some people just don't change and well...others, just make gatherings awkward sometimes haha! Jas's cake was so pretty and tasted good, all made by friends! Such talented cake makers =P There weren't any speeches because it was just too loud for anyone to hear them, but it's OK, I'm sure jas got a lot of heart-felt messages from everyone =P Soon it was time to head to metros! Haha, metros was very metro-ey..the floors were still sticky and gross, but the crowd was a lot younger there...new generation I guess! It was fun! We all danced until our legs hurt, well mine did anyway then it was off to Uncle Billy's because we were all starving =D Ordered quite a bit of food...loved the congee as always and also the ee-fu? noodles yummm! Thanks to Michael for treating us too...so nice of him! After supper we all went our separate ways...ama and me followed jas back to her place for a sleep over! We went through Jas's presents some were cool and others were interesting ahah! I think we ended up sleeping at around 4am or 5am...I just know that the sun was due to come up really soon. Ama and me then got up and left before 12! Had a great night and I hope chicken did too!
I also had relief teaching for 2 days during the second week. I didn't expect to get any jobs because school had only just started again! I was so excited as well because I was also asked to relief full time for November...4 weeks of teaching! Hooray hooray. Anyway the 2 days that I taught were really good, I felt prepared for everything, stayed alert and got along with the kids! Can't wait to teach them all in November...let's see if they still like me then haha!
After teaching on Friday night, Eva asked us to go bowling, but I think she messaged me the night before when I was already half asleep. I remember reading the message the night before but fell asleep before I could reply! I woke up the next day and completely forgot about it until she messaged again..oops! Sorry Eva! I couldn't make it because dorky and me had dinner plans! Before dinner though, we made a quick stop to Curtin's Pasar Malam...omgosh we almost missed it!! If I hadn't hopped onto Facebook before leaving, we wouldn't have even known about it...it was something that I wanted to go to all year! So phew! We missed the UWA Spring Feast though...such a bummer =( Oh well...NEXT YEAR WE WILL MAKE BOTH! haha. The PM at curtin was alright, saw a few people we knew there as well as people i didn't know but had seen pictures of =P The lines for everything were mega long...it was such a headache to wait for food, luckily we could people watch our way to pass time. Bought a ramly burger, food on sticks, prawn noodle soup and a couple of drinks? Chatted to Jenny and David too (we keepp bumping into them), I found out Jenny got into a car accident and grazed her face..poor girl, I'm just happy she's alright =) We need to catch up more I think! Anyway after that we headed off!
That weekend was a really hot one i think? Dorky me decided to make the most of the weather so we headed down to Freo for lunch. We went to a pizza place, forgot the name and ordered chilli mussels and 2 pastas. Omgosh, that place has gigantic servings! We couldn't even finish our meals! The food itself was alright, not spectacular, but value for money =) So if you are super hungry go there...I'll try and remember the name of it later hehe! We also had an icecream, a blood orange and passionfruit sorbet, so yum on a hot a day! Anyway that night it was Gerri's 21st, but I didn't end up going so I hope Gerri had a great time and happy birthday!! The theme was pretty cool though, a rubiks party! The photos looked good =)
On Sunday, dorky and me went shopping in the city! We both needed to update our closets a bit...quite badly actually! So we looked at clothes most of the time and bought a few items =) We ate HJ's for lunch, I had a kids club meal because they had spongebob toys!!!! I got a Patrick floater, hehe so cute, but does absolutely nothing, just like Patrick himself hehe! Anyway after the city we went home and got ready for a wedding dinner at Jade. I had no idea what to wear and I didn't know the wedded couple...so I just wore a dress haha! There were a lot of China guests, but I learnt they were mostly high profile persons in Perth, but I recognised none =P There were 11 courses to the dinner, with all the good stuff chinese people love. I got full after the 5th or 6th dish. Our table wasn't filled up so we had extra helpings...bad idea! Dorky bought me a rose fromt he rose guy, for no reason at all...aw thankyou to my lovely bf...muahs! I was also ushered to the front of the stage, along with other girls to catch the bouquet...eeps! When it was thrown I stepped further away haha! They also wanted to interview us, I think to market us off lol, but us girls were too shy and hid haha...go us! Dorky saved me from getting pulled away by a man (his dad) lol! It was really funny =) All the ladies were given presents and I even got to keep the flower arrangement from our table as a prize hehe. So many freebies...but thankyou so much for inviting me....had a wonderful time!
Monday and Wednesday I had work at the cafe. Same old same old happened...everyone keeps getting frustrated at my boss. We never have enough change in the till and we always end up giving customers change in 5 cent forms...so bad! Poor customers. Also a ham sandwich was $4 before, now it's $7 what a complete rip! Please don't eat at my cafe haha! Unless I serve you and pretend you don't know me =P I don't know what she's doing....
Wednesday afternoon, I went to my relief school and had a meeting with the teacher there. Looks like I have a lot of work to get through with the pre-primaries. I have to help coordinate and run an assembly item, help transition the kids into year one, juggle around 3 teacher's assistants, 2 autistic children, deal with only half a playground for the kids to play in because the kindy is getting ripped apart and built somplace else and also teach the usual things...eeps! I hope I get everything done ok...I'll be busy, but I'm excited too hehe!
So yup, I think that is all for now...will update more if I can think of anything else! Toodles for now =D
new post!! new post!!
Okay, continuing on from my last post...I mentioned that I was crazy bored? Well..
My cry for help from my last entry must have really worked, because after I posted it, Jas came over to my house with Adam! I'm not really sure why Adam tagged along with Jas...
Jas: Why did you come ah?
Adam: ... (no answer)
Haha...both of them were cramped in my small room with Jas and me working on her birthday invites. Adam was going through my things and eating all my chocolate supplies and slowly killing my poor wrist rest....so very NOTTI! Anyway...we did alot of cutting that night and I'm not sure if we were super productive? It was good though...they saved me from a night of boredom!
Also, Christine messaged me on MSN that day and asked if I was keen on having a night out with her and the other girls on Saturday....I had not been out out in AGES! So I agreed to it! They weren't really sure on where to go, but the initial plan was metros city! But unfortunately they had a concert on so boohoo...crazily enough, I wanted to go to metros. Anyway...during the day I lounged around not doing much in particular. I watched my mum make assam laksa...looks like a lot of work! I ate two bowls of it for lunch, appreciatively. I was still really full by the time christine picked me up, along with sarah. We had a drink at her house and caught up a bit...bazza had bailed on us, so it was back to our threesome! We decided that northbridge would be out destination for the night and that's where we headed...thanks for the lift dan! Haha and the night itself was pretty fun...
We got dropped off at the Deen first. It was my first time there and I thought it wasn't too bad at all! The music was pretty good. We danced a little bit and got approached by this guy who said he would buy us drinks of we kissed his friend! Haha, chissa and me wanted sarah to do it...she was single!! and free drinks for us! haha but I don't think she was tipsy enough to do it, so boo! After a short dance we decided to go to the Shed! It was already so packed inside and we went straight for the dancefloor. The music was funny...very Australian is all I can say and thank goodness I knew the words to most of the songs otherwise I would've felt very out of place. We danced like crazy girls inside and saved each other from getting pulled away by other people! Sarah found a guy to flirt with and yeah...within 5 minutes they were already pashing each other haha...funny! Once the Shed closed, we wanted to go to the Mustang bar....but chissa and me got hungry so we bought chips from that kebab place that only opens at night...they ripped us off big time...got hardly any chips =( Sarah went into the Mustang bar with the guy she had pashed...was it safe? Well, when chissa and me found them, they were on the couch talking....so civilised! Haha, rah whispered that he was only 18 years old HAHAHA! Anyway, we were getting tired by 3:30am...we called dan and had our last little dance, but oh gosh...i yacked on the dancefloor...i was doing so well!!! =( I have no alcohol tolerance at all these days! My body just rejects it! Hmm, maybe 2 smirnoffs, a vodka and pineapple juice and redbull and vodka was too much...and I should've eaten a dinner before I left the house...oh well...it was still fun! So thanks to the girls for taking me out =) Missed those girls so much sometimes!
The next day....I felt sick that morning ahaha...and dorky and me had planned to go to the Royal Show!!! We decided to go in the afternoon...I missed out on baddy again! Sorry girls! The show was enjoyable as always. Dorky and me went straight for food as soon as we got inside...mmm twisted fries and pluto pups were exactly what I needed! We walked around looking at all the pavilions. We saw a lot of sheep this time...they were pretty cute as was my sheep impersonation =D We also ate the super yummy sausages again, visited the lamb van and I got my lamb shank! It was so awesome! hehe! Before we knew it though, it was already nearing fireworks time...so we quickly bought showbags. I didn't really think the showbags were that great this year...don't know why, but anyway I got a crunchie bag, red rock deli, pop n whizz bag? and also a hubba bubba one! Those lollies should keep me going for a while. We also played a couple of games. I tried the bag picking one but won a stupid little bear..and seeing how disappointed i was, the game lady told me I could pay $6 and I could upgrade to a giant dog...wahooo!! Dorky also played his basketball shooting game haha! The fireworks were really nice...they used songs from movie soundtracks and the way it was performed was really synchronised! I still love fireworks...even better with dorky being there hehe =) Thanks again for taking me to the show..I had a blast!
Monday was a public holiday, the queen's birthday. Dorky and me went into nb I think and walked around for ages looking for food we felt like eating. We went into one of those bbq meat restaurants....good fortune? and man, they were so unfriendly. They saw us come in but didn't talk to us or direct us to sit down, so we waited then just left for hung kee bbq. The food there wasn't bad...i loved the pork and jellyfish! After lunch we went for bbt at easyway and along the way we saw serene and then a few steps away was kendoll and his gf! We also watched the movie Fame later in the day. The trailers looked good and everything, but I don't know...I'm not sure if I enjoyed it as much as I had thought I would? There wasn't much of a storyline and the characters weren't very well developed. The effects and picture was very nice though! Don't know what Dorky thought about the movie though, he was falling asleep!
Tuesday, met up with eva and ama in the city to buy a few things for a notti person. We were pretty successful with our purchases, which was good! Eva and me munched on Sumo salad, which was just so yummy...love it! We browsed some more shops and checked out Target for dresses...such a failure for me. I still don't know what I'm wearing to Jas's! We waited until 6pm and then got a lift from Eva's dad back home...so thankyou Mr Farm!! mmm i want more sumo salad!
Wednesday and Thursday I had work! My boss seemed so much more happier and chirpier this week. She made a new kids menu, which looked pretty good! She's increasing all the food prices, but hey...i guess that's how you make money? Anyway...both work days flew past really quickly without much drama...hooray!
Also, HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY to my dearest CHICKEN LEE!!! for Thursday! I hope that she had a really great day and I know that she found a few surprises too...notti girl! haha. We met up for bbt that night...jas was munching on her donut balls! It was a lovely little gathering for our favourite chicken hehe!! Happy birthday again =DDDDD Love you!
Friday...I was busy making special things...made my room super messy for my mum to clean hohoho! I also went out and bought some bacon and made a pasta dish for Jas's potluck. It came out a bit oily I though, because I hadn't made that much before...but my mum and brother said it tasted OK, so yey! I managed to get everything done on time too with time to spare...bonus! Dorky picked me up and we went and picked up the sushi platter from sai koh and off we went to Jas's house! We were the first to arrive and we thought we were late! We stole sushi to eat first...such good sushi! Then people started arriving, then we started eating for real! Mmm foooooood! We gave jas her present..hope she liked it! Then we played a game I have never heard of before, called Sardines...it was pretty fun...Jas chose her hiding spot well! Then we went upstairs and played rockband and then pictionary...it was a close game. I felt soooooo sleepy as well and i don't know why...I think probably ate too much? haha! Anyway had lots of fun still! Thanks for inviting us jas!!! xxxxxxx
Saturday is todaaaaaay...have a glory match to go to later and it's the mooncake festival! I wanted to ask everyone to do the lantern thingy again this year...but after the spooky stories from bbt on thursday night...maybe we'll skip it haha! Anyway..should shower now...I'm super hungry!!
