Well, it seems like the year 2010 came all too quickly...so quickly in fact that it's like it almost didn't happen at all! But since it did, let me just start by saying HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!! May everyone have a year full of happiness and success in everyway - I hope that this will be an even greater year for me too =P
So, New years eve...the gang and I (minus Jen) met up at Jas's house where we played with Bala's 2 kids. I never imagined them to be so active and LOUD! Poor Bala, I see what he must have to put up with everyday haha. The youngest one, D is super cute and so chubby hehe...I just want to steal him! Anyway after they ruined Jas's bed we headed upstairs and played some wii games...mariokart and the super mario game...FUN!! After the kids and Bala left, we went to Matilda Bay and waited for Wei2 to finish work so that we would enjoy the fireworks together...then the countdown began and (silence) NO FIREWORKS!! we got so cheated haha! And to make matters even more worse the sprinklers came and wet us good. Haha, I guess it was a memorable new years for us all! We also took some awesome pictures and played with sparklers, which never fails to bring a smile to my face. I'm glad to have spent my last remaining hours of 2009 with my wonderful friends =) After that, Jas, dorky and me went to Uncle Billy's for supper...we had our usual 3 egg congee and also ordered an e-fu noodle to share...it was so good =D Happy 2010!!
New years day...was a bit of an ordinary and slow one...I didn't do anything at all that day! Dorky had work from midday until 1am, which is crazy and I can't believe his work would do that to their workers, so bad and I felt so sorry for dorky...he also had to give up his RDO to work the next day...so bad.
Saturday night, dorky took me out to freo for dinner at our favourite restaurant there...Sandrinos! We ordered chilli mussels (yum), I had the fish of the day, which was salmon I think and dorky had his awesome seafood marinara!! Thanks to you for dinner, you spoil me too much hehe!
On Sunday, the girls wanted to have a swim but I couldn't go because I had no bathers to swim in, so I suggested I swim naked haha but that idea wasn't received too well. It was a lovely hot day and I wanted to cool down, but oh well...wait until I get some proper swimwear girls! Dorky and me took Jas to Dumpling King, because she hadn't tried it before. We ordered dumplings, sweet and sour pork, my black bean noodles, dorky had a fish head mai fun soup and Jas had a spicy noodle soup! We ate plenty and I was satisfied with the food! After that Jas met up with ama to go swimming and I think I went over to dorky's place and hung out a little while =) For dinner, we met up with my family for my dad's birthday dinner! Intially we wanted to try Somerville cafe, but it was closed, then it was Freo then in the end we went to Bullcreek Hawkers haha! We ordered around 6 dishes, which were all pretty good and inexpensive!! We ate so much and still had lots left over..quite a satisfying meal =) We went home afterwards and ate some of my dad's birthday cake...yum!
Monday was my Dad's 58th birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My brother worked all day, which is why we didn't have dinner on this day, but yesterday...hope my dad had a great day nonetheless! I had a relaxing day at home and treadmilled a little bit...need to get back into fitness! Which reminds me, Jas and me created a group for our friends on Facebook called Fit-R-Us! It's a group for people who want to come and get fit together by doing active and recreational things, like playing baddy, golf or even fishing! So I hope that more people join in then I think we can really organise some fun events =P
On Tuesday I had work. Found out that my boss was away for the week because she had gone to Singapore..I wish I were holidaying in sg too!! Anyway, work was gay...they made me do all the labour work. I reorganised the storeroom full of heavy boxes of drinks then went back to the cafe and transported 10 boxes of drinks to the storeroom. They were soooo heavy and I have no idea why they asked the smallest person to do all that...but oh well, I guess I had a good arm workout haha! At night, I think there was supposed to be gelare, but it never happened! The thing was, after the idea was suggested by Jas, I actually really felt like having gelares so dorky and me went anyway and shared a large one. Then after that we went to the cafe c15 and had drinks =D I had a pretty good green tea and he had a hazelnut latte, which he thought was quite bland...we also ordered chips for some reason...we didn't finish them! Haha, twas a good and random night in the end.
Wednesday, dorky had soccer at night, so I went along and watched for a bit of team support. The OMGWTFBBQ team played against another team who wore tuxedo printed shirts as their uniform...very cool! Anyway, in the first half of the game the bbq team weren't doing so well, I was starting to think that it was going to be a bad lose but then in the second half they just got this surge of energy and scored 4 goals and won the game! So well done guys =D It was an entertaining game..dorky almost had his head kicked off when another player swung his leg over dorky's head...scary stuff!! After soccer, dokry and me had dinner at Kailis in Leederville, which wasn't our first choice. We wanted to eat Jus burgers again but alas! there were just too many people lined up outside. We did enjoy our chilli mussels, event hought he serving wasn't very big and my bbq-ed squid and his fish of the day, yum! After dinner we headed home and I had a shower and when i got out, Jas asked if I wanted to go to Ama's place and why not? lol so at 11pm we went to ama's and enjoed our gossip session until 2 somthing..then it was home and bed!
Thursday I had work and felt so tired, but luckily I didn't have to do very much at all...there weren't many customers, which was weird for a Thursday. After work and dinner Dorky took me to Jas's house, while he went to UWA and played more soccer. At Jas's house we had some fun doing 2 workout DVD's! The last time I followed the dvd, I really couldn 't finish it, but with Jas we managed to finish both of them, which was almost an hour and a half of exercise...well done to us! Legs felt like jelly afterwards though. As we waited for dorky to finish we watched the movie, Journey to the centre of the eart, with Brendan Fraser in it! We snacked on salty mixed nuts and twisties =( but oh well! Dorky came after the game and watched th rest of the movie with us yay! Went home and slept good that night =)
Saturday, dorky finally got his RDO! So he was free all day! We started off with lunch at Spencer village and ordered a feast for us both! Oyster omelette, the fried radish cake a laska and a mee goreng for me, which was massive and also a watermelon crush! We didn't finish everything...faillllll! After lunch we bought some crabnets and a crab measurer from a store in Canningvale. Then we did some more shopping at Carousel! Bought a few essentials like workshoes and forgot to buy a HDD, again! Must remember for next time! Anyway, went home early and relaxed by watching lots of One tree hill episodes! Love it!
Sunday!! Woke up at 6am and gathered things ready for CRABBING!!! EXCITEMENT! hehe, Jason, Jas and dorky met at my house at 7:30am and we started our little road trip! First stop was the petrol station where we picked up water and lollies, then it was off to Maccas fro breakfast...yumyum sausage and egg mcmuffin! Then our road trip to Mandurah began =D My GPS really failed to work and kept telling us to go back, sigh..unreliable thing, lucky we had some people who knew their directions! Anyway we arrived and checked out the place...it didn't really look like a place where people crabbed because no one was scooping crabs, but we headed into the water and started looking for crabs...not many at all, plus the water was super choppy from the boats that kept going past!! We kind of thought at that point that this was going to be a failure already haha. Then dorky suggested we go to another spot and try our luck...this place was much better looking and actually had people crabbing here! We got in the water and spotted some crabs, but they were small! We ventured on for hours and caught heaps of crabs, but most of them were quite small so we had to throw them back. In the end we caught 3 legal sized and 2 slightly under legal sized crabs, because they were "beautiful" haha! We had a lot of fun and also had a lot of gross out moments too. After scooping we had lunch at Red Rooster, which was salty as we all found out, but meh...it was still yum. We then tried drop netting at the jetty, which was sooooo windy that at times we felt like we were going to be blown off the jetty's edge! We used our smelly bait and did actually catch crabs in it, but they were just too small =( We saw that others crabbing off the jetty were having the same problem as us...maybe in a few weeks time the crabs will be bigger (must go back!). Other oexciting things (apart from crabs) that we saw was a huge cat fish, a huge stingray that was caught off the jetty and dolphins!! So exciting! At around 4-5 we headed back to my place for a crab feast! My mum cooked our crab catch, singapore style and also cooked us some noodles too, so thanks mum! It was after we ate that Jas and me found out how sunburnt we were on the neck and legs...arghhh!! hopefully it goes away soon! Anyway, I hope that everyone enjoyed the crabbing adventure as much as I did and hopefully our next event will include more people this time haha...maybe baddy next? Thanks guys for coming =)
